I bought it, and managed to leave it on my desk at work. Arse.

ill join on monday. got it today, and am in london all weekend
a small write up from the two hours i've played tonight.
also have the xbox wheel as i just cant bring myself to play racing games on a pad.

quick intro and setup, and your picking your first car. i went for the vw fox, and got on well with it. very nice scenery, colours, and textures, and the cars look great. not sure about the in car view, it makes the game really quite difficult, but nice detail none the less.

quickly got the hang of the handling, though the brake pedal will need a stiffer spring as its very 'off/on' at the moment. all of a sudden i'm realising instead of getting through these boring races (and licences if used to gt like me) i'm having a hoot! With the handling being much more neutral as opposed to the constant understeer (again compared to gt) you get every time you push in the corners. all too quickly im through the first round as a novice and into the clubman cup where i plumped for a mk1 mr2!

again, absolute bloody hoot driving this around! easy lift off/power oversteer and just a joy to push into the corners. not sure about outright pace compared to the competitors?
perhaps imo the mr2 is a bit too quick? but great fun. one plus/gripe is the ai.
not afraid to have a go, and doesn't just drop away as soon as your alongside which is great, on the down side, driving clean laps is very difficult, as minding your own business can see you rammed in the side, even when you have track position.
it did catch me out at hockenheim however using another car as a brake marker, only to watch them over cook it into the gravel, and me heading in line a stern too! not had that happen much before in race games, and a pleasure to see the ai cars really battling not only with me, but amongst themselves too.

my last car has been the seat leon cupra, and that too felt great to drive! if anything like the game, i'd love one in real life. nice and tight and rapid to boot!
i think thats one of the noticable things that comes as a real playable upgreade in this game, the physics engine. all the cars are much less wallowy, and don't lurch around as much as on old race games (except the old yank tanks of course). i'm not sure if thats because newer cars are better built, more realisticaly mapped, or as mentioned, better physics, but it makes the game a real joy to play.
as you can tell, i'm keen on this one
for me the worst part of the game is the voice over from that utter fccukwit clarkson! just don't see the point, though i'm sure many will see it as a good thing, i just think he's a dick. end of.
in summary, a nice balance of arcade meets sim. fun to play (unlike gt) but real enough with all the aids switched off, i really cant wait to get my teeth into the game proper, and am left wondering, if the early/slow cars are this much fun, is it worth progressing?
honestly i'm a gt fanboy and always have been, but i'd sell my ps3 to fund an xbox for this game alone.

I'll be selling a brand new copy on monday. Pre ordered a copy on play.com that never turned up, so went and bought another from blockbuster tonight as the girlfriend is only away today!

I haven't owned a console for years but I feel like buying a 360 just for this game. It looks really impressive.

Forza 4 is amazing, played it loads last night but now got the grand folks over for a couple of days so it's gonna be hard to get on it.

I must say that I've always been a massive Forza fan and they have exceeded expectations again.

Got a ps3 and GT5 but might get a 360 on ebay, as played Forza today and it is alot better.

Forza arrived Thursday.... At my inlaws house and I'm not being there anytime soon. Devastated.

It's my first console in about 15yrs so I've never played Grid. Only played Forza 3 for about 15 minutes on it so far. If I don't like it I'll PM you.

Why does an xbox need a 250GB hard drive? This is all new to me

good deal, but are you sure it is a slim? if it is it is the deal of the century but i would have assumed it is a 250gb phat - which is fine, so long as it is a 250gb model phat xbox rather than an older premium xbox that the user simply decided to purchase a 250gb drive for.

250gb HDDs are really useful as you can install all your games onto the HDD rather than run off disk, which means they load faster, the console is quieter and in theory the console should last longer.

I recently repaired my RROD xbox (properly) and sold it for £50. I should have sold it on here as there's so much demand I've been working my ass off all week and I've only had about an hour of Forza 4, but what I've seen, I've LIKED! The Autovista is just car porn.

Yeah I'm really chuffed. I've only played Forza 3 so far and not touched any of the other games. Spent about 3hrs on it after sending the kids to bed. Really impressed so far but I'm not very good so need to get practicing. Missus says she will buy me Forza 4 for christmas but I dint want to wait that long so will probably just buy it myself.

Forza 3 has 2 discs and the 2nd disc installed onto the hard drive so now I know why you need them.

Buy forza 4 yourself, and ask the missus to get you a decent wheel for xmas.

I can heartily reccomend the fanatec GT2. It is not cheap but never once have i regretted my purchase.

am sure their new CSR wheel is good too.

I've just had a look at the fanatec wheels. They look the business but I'm not prepared to spend that kind of money so soon. I didn't realise wheels cost so much. I'm still getting used to analogue sticks anyway

Played it for an hour or so last night, but was left pretty underwhelmed. Looks very pretty I guess.
Popped the disk out and went back to Rage.

I will give it a more thorough workout, but with so many goo titles about to release, I am not sure it will get much of my time.
