Is this the case with all HIDs? I am thinking of investing in some.

Rats! Is there any way around this? i.e. mount the ballasts away from the light fitting, or is it not the ballast that causes the problem?

I'm not sure - just adjusted my lights down, and unplugged the connectors to the light-adjuster motors prior to fitting my HIDS. I've never had any issues with other road users flashing me, and visibility at night is very good !

yes - they will be OK in that the motors won't burn out, but they won't flap around or anything - the HID's really are night and day compared to the standard lights.

use one of these and you don't have to use the fiat wiring so there is no chance of frying the motors , mine came with this in the kit and i still have working motors 3 years on .

For the sake of a fiver, that seems like a sensible investment. Thanks. thumb
