What are the advantages and disadvantages between these two please, if any?
Thanks.

One thing I have found is that the 40 profile with an 18" rim is MUCH cheaper than the 35 profile.
225/40/18 Toyo T1R = 91 delivered Continental Sport Contact 3 = 114 delivered
225/35/18 Toyo T1R = Hard to find, but around 120 delivered Continental Sport Contact = 153! delivered

215/40/18 are a good tyre with slightly better ride.
The speedo is also spot on with the GPS on that tyre size although it goes against everything said on here and tyre size web sites. The tyre size calcs aren't much cop. My 215/35/18 also read bang on to the GPS. The trouble is the tyre calcs can't forecast the dynamics of a changing effective rolling radius. It's good to see a 40 profile will work. As I find the ride a little crashy on mine.
