http://freeforumzone.leonardo.it/lofi/Il-coupe-di-risi/D1378417.html

Contains references to the Coupe I talked about elsewhere. Risi tuning (Capri) or CHD Tuning seemingly developed a Coupe in 2004-2005 that was running NOS and got it to over 700 bhp, with a quarter mile of just over 10 second recorded and an exit speed nearing 150 mph.

I'm trying to find some more, will paste below.

The pictures originally sent to me...

The mail I got with it I remember reference the following stage using NOS and reaching 710+ bhp.

The original Delta they started with. Unfortunately Risi's website seems to no longer exist.

Running 3.2 bar, 700 bhp, and possible to unleash a NOS aided 900 bhp.

I think I should spend some time on the Italian forum and dig a bit deeper...

This one should have 1000bhp, running sub-10 quarter miles.

Link was given to me on the Italian forum.

Look at the size of the turbo on that one!

Any ideas on spec of the 1000 horse one?

940 bhp 16vt Coupe at 'low boost' - namely 2.4 bar.

Some extra info: he's planning on 1200bhp with a gtx45 turbocharger. I'll post some more pictures later.

700 BHP @ 3.2 bar - tough to do but possible. 940 BHP @ 2.4 bar - a pipe dream.

It's the black drag racing one in the video, confirmed by various sources to be running 1000bhp and won some nitro drag fest contest or something in Italy. There's multiple 900bhp 16vt Integrales running over there. I'll see what further info I can get. Already saw some images, hope to copy over tomorrow.

This is very interesting :-)
Do you know what gearboxes they used?!
Modified streghtened original integrale boxes (similar to old 5gear coupe boxes) or complete new solutions like http://www.bacciromano.com/index.php?p=prodotti&l=eng&cat1=24&cat2=40&mar=5
or similar?!
Thanks
Juergen

Quite simply wow!

one thing, that has surprised me (other than the specs!) is how much better designed the 16v handbrake console looks...its looks much more 'thought through' than the 20v versions I think....

Okay... some pictures as promised and an older power graph. I think two might be from a different car (well the first blue 'risi' one certainly is and I'm not sure about the gearthingies. smile

why? there is no comparison with those 2 figures.2 different setups with different turbos. garrett compressor map shows that circa 95lb/min is possible between 2.6 and 3.5 bar absolute on their compressor map for the turbo they are running there before the choke line,so its entirely possible.

Nothing to do with what the turbo will flow. 940 BHP at 8300 rpm, 2.4 bar would require the engine to make 595 lb/ft at 8300 rpm. So the engine would need to produce 320BHP/203 lb/ft normally aspirated.

Believe it's running nos as well to make 1000bhp.

turbo flow is massively important, and what you have said is not impossible either given the c16 fuel being used allowing for a much more aggressive set up.so ill take it that you agree with me that its an entirely possible output, especially looking at the mph on the timing slips

Well, that would make a difference!

How much power is coming from the nitrous oxide system, and how much power without the NOS. Do you know GS?

Fantastic to have a turbo that will flow 95lbs a minute - the tricky bit is getting the engine to ingest 95lbs of air per minute........ I don't see that happening at 2.5 bar - you would need a VE of 150% at 8300 rpm (multiplied by a density ratio of 2.92 from 2.4 bar boost).

the b and L has a bacci transmission, perhaps higher spec then the std listed one. I like the suspension set up and mechanical pump off the cam shaft.

I believe it's a difference of about 2-300 bhp, I should check the email. Next stage he's aiming for 1200bhp with nos though.

What is the pump for? Coolant?

It looks like it also has an electric pump in the wing too

Looks to be a fuel pump.

What's the cylinder head picture? Not the same as the one bolted to the engine.

Additional question to the block itself.
Unfortunately I do not know the 16V turbo block (I have a 20VT). Does someone know, if this is the original block? Or is it maybe an other modified block (for example diesel or similar)?!
Thanks
Juergen

It's a standard block casting at least what can be seen.

Looks to be a raw head casting, certainly not a standard one. The assembled engine has a standard head casting.
