Mike make sure there's paperwork history and no corrosion, the VIS is one of the most reliable so as long as its had reqular service work I see no reason why it should be a dog. If you view the car and need to ask any tech questions on the day do please give me a bell Joe. 01885 400740

No oil pressure issues with the VIS, you should see 2.5 bar + hot all day long. My VIS now has 152k miles on the clock, and has been uber reliable. No issues underneath with the rot worm either. All the style of its turbo charged cousins, without the paranoia or the servicing costs. Great 5 pot soundtrack (better than the turbo) at low revs, instant throttle response, a coop that can be driven at 8/10 of its capabilities on the public road Check the water temps when warm, as the difference in fuel economy between a working thermostat and a knackered one is noticeable!

No not really, been looking around for a coupe for a while, the non turbo seems easier to maintain and less to go wrong, would love the turbo but trying to keep costs down.

I had my VIS for close to 2 years, and the only real cost I had was a new rear radius arm bearing (or something like that) to pass an MOT. Whereas in 8 months my 20vt has cost me an absolute fortune!! I used to see 1.5 bar oil pressure when REALLY hot, or about 1.8 bar at normal temperatures. Hardly used a drop of oil in that time. Last year I took it on a 2500 mile trip round europe with no problems, including 2 sessions round Spa-Francorchamps and 4 laps round the Nurburgring! And there's no need for Brembos, the VIS brakes are more than adequate - although I admit the Brembos do look nice!!

I should add - I bought my VIS from Roger at Power Italia. I probably paid a little more than if I bought a coupe from a forum member/ebay, but then I was happy knowing that the car had been well looked after! And the fact I hardly had to spend anything over normal servicing in 2 years means I wish I'd taken my own advice when buying my 20vt!!

The VIS doesn't need brembos imho. The calipers it has do the job more than adequately (I've done a few track sessions with mine and they hold up ok). And you'll never suffer with the dreaded brake squeal.
FYI My brakes squeal constantly and they're fine
