MrsCC and I are booked up to go to Brands for the 11th December so that we can finish the year off by testing her 2.4 VIS. The car ran really well at Spa but since then its been remapped and played with a little more so the Indy circuit should be great fun if the brakes hold this time... well unless its snowing that is of course crazy

I've also convinced my Brother and my new spanner man Dan to come along for some fun, Dan's is a pretty much standard MkII MR2 turbo running about 220bhp so I'm looking forward to having a go in this twitchy rwd laugh

If anyone else fancies coming along to watch they'll be hot soup and fresh bread on the day, we've reserved a pit garage to try and keep out of the December weather but there should be plenty of people to chat to along with passenger rides so bring a crash helmet if you've got one.

If you fancy booking it yourself the link is below, it's £110.00 for the day so as long as the weather holds it should be a giggle.

Brands Hatch 11th dec.

2. MrsCC
3. Knight7660 + Mrs.

I am bang up for this one (don't live far from Brands, and really like the circuit) - have confirmed it's open pit lane too (wasn't clear on their site)

Yep we have been talking about this one. Looks like a goer for me too, 20vt needs a bit of tlc or else I could give Custard a run out.

Will confirm either way this weekend...

Just been informed by my other half that we're away up in Cambridgeshire that weekend frown

I may pop down in the afternoon to say hi (I live near Brands) and I'll bring my crash helmet (and Clio) if I do smile

I've been watching Dan's thread on MR2OC about our Brands meet and I'd like to think that after the day the Mr2 boys will be re-think their attitude about Coupes once we've shown them our tail lights.

At the mopment they're bantering about us blowing head gaskets and burnt wiring looms ( Yes Reuben I know it's true in your case rolleyes ) but again it goes to show that the general petrolhead just doesn't know how good the Fiat coupe can be on and off track.

Looking forward to teaching these Rice burners a lesson laugh

Brands is a great track ... and I'd love to come along ... but the 180 mile (one way!) journey in the Westie puts me off a little! laugh Hopefully I'll get down there next year ... once I have a trailer smile

Have a cracking day smile

Yes 180 miles in an open top would put me off as well Dave, I love driving but I prefer to be warm while doing it, lol wink

It's not just the cold ... it's the noise (engine/ induction/ aeroscreen), harsh ride (track tuned!) and relative vehicle size (compared to Polish lorry wheels on the M6)! laugh

I've driven 120 miles at -12c in my Indy with no windscreen. You can keep yourself warm, but the only thing that you can't protect against is your feet. In kit cars you can't wear thick bike boots, so you just have to rely on x pairs of socks. It gets very cold shocked

The MR2s won't know what's hit them laugh No disrespect to them, but in my experience on track, they are an average car in terms of outright speed.
