I'm going to be putting my 20VT wheels in for a refurb soon and wondered if anyone had any experience of metal tyre valves??

I know one of the big wheel refurb places include metal valves when they do a refurb.

I have found these metal valves

Anybody any info about them - will they fit?

I have similar ones (I think I bought aluminium) fitted on my winter wheels. Good quality and they look good. Despite some doom mongers in a recent post, the metal dustcaps don't seize on if you grease them and check your tyre pressures regularly.

Nah, then they'd be chromed. These look very similar to the ones originally on my Alfa Ti, I loved them.

LOL doom monger indeed laugh I explained a wee story that I had with an alloy cap. Although I used Vaseline on the thread, still had a problem getting the damn thing off. Perhaps I wasn't regular enough. chinny

I'm an old git & happy with it,most of the time

Cheers for the feedback guys.

I've seen the stories of stuck alloy caps and I've had it happen to me too.... if I go for metal valves then checking them will become part of the maintenance routine!

Haha I don't think they look chav at all - they haven't even got LED's in!! laugh

AP1 - I don't suppose you have a link to where you bought yours or remember who they were made by?

I bought mine from Demon Tweeks, Titanium Look Bolt In Valves Aluminium, part no R/B3000.18, cost £17.85 all in last year.

Cheers Nismo but I think they are just sleeves on the bay.... I'm looking for proper metal!

Thanks for that AP1 - they look just the same except they in alu.... I'll get a set of them then laugh

When I saw the red colour ones I did think they might look good next to the red calipers..... but titanium silver will look much more classy and that's what the coop is about! cool

Thanks for the pointer
