Just had a look on 'How Many Left' and there are currently 2,878 Coupes registered on UK roads. A further 959 are SORN giving a total of 3,837 left in existence.

That's more exclusive than a lot of proper classics - for instance there are a total of 4,118 Triumph TR6's currently in the UK.

The worrying statistic though is that in Q3 2010 there were 4,365 Coupes. Minus the current 3,837 and we are down 528 over the last 12 months.

That equates to 10 Coupes off to the scrapper every single week!

Ten a week being scrapped is a shocking statistic! Hope that's not people breaking good ones just to profit from selling spares!

I'm hoping it's just the rubbish being scrapped but like what has been said before they're worth more in parts at the moment.

I'm often dubious on the stats from the DVLA as the numbers never really add up. That said looking at some of the stats it's a suprising number, especially the comparison against the triumph. I can see the number levelling off as people start to keep them as second/weekend/ cars. I'll be hanging onto mine!

The trouble is that by the time they are worth £10K you will have spent 3 times that keeping them on the road.... .

Well there is only one that I know of in Canada now and it is mine...

... still worthless, particularly since it is an unknown car here and hence no market for it.

My son has fallen in love with mine so perhaps Canada will have two in the near future... my son and I will not create a big enough demand to inflate the prices in the UK... sorry guys.

There are three in Canada although possibly one of them has now gone south of the border (look for posts by "Tipoboy"), the other one is a 16v....

I've saved over 10 Coupes this year, the 11th is just about to be finished but the down side is I've dismantled 4 so that's not too bad.

Poland has imported quite a few this year, many through co-part and cheap eBay sales, prices will rise because nice examples look mint these days so the rust bug is clearing the rubbish and it'll continue even faster next year.

I looked at 4 examples here in Canada, the three I did not buy were sold to other countries and are no longer here.

I hope there are some others around in the hands of enthusiasts...that would be cool.

Yes the Poland exports number is quite significant, and not just coops, although I would say for coops it's mainly eBay, as I am an avid Copart buyer, I've only seen about 10 coops come up this year, of which I've bought 4! One of which you now own, one I sold on, 1 Cat D that I made one car out of 2 Cat D's and a Cat C rear ender 20vt that I broke.
