Hi All,

In 2008 i bought another Escort RS2000mk2 Custom ( I used to have one many moons ago, bought as a 21st birthday present to myself after completing my apprentiseship)

Unfortunately it wasnt as good as the seller told me it was so a full strip was undertaken to restore it to as new condition (funds permitting & all re-usable original components were used to keep costs down and originallity up lol)

Hopefully some pics showing the stages of her re-birth.

32 years worth of crud to remove (oh joy!)




Got it all off eventually using hot air gun/ scrapper/petrol/rags.Not the most pleasant job but nice to see it looking good and clean,



Once all cleaned up was given a new coat of Dove grey



Running gear checked and re-painted/cleaned/polished ready to be re-fitted eventually.

Just because it cant be seen doesnt mean it shouldnt be made as clean as possible (wiper linkage sits inside under dash)lol.






Body prep done by a friend who works in a main dealer body shop but has a passion for old Fords.





Boot fit looks wrong due to no seal



On underside we tried to replicate the factory look, grey inside chassis rails with paint/overspray outside rails and under arches.









Rear axle ready for re-fitting
