I thought that I will share with you my recent experience with my 16VT as I took it for a long journey to Poland over Xmas period. All together some sweet 2300 miles, about 19 hours of
each way which resulted in 8.75l/100km and the petrol bill of £370. Obviously, it was hard to stay off bosst all the time
Anyway, no issues with the car whatsoever. Turbo didn't burn any oil at all and my back spine is still fine
While I was there I gave it an oil, filter and rocker cover gasket change and did the compression test too. After 15 years / 71k on the clock engine is still going strong ! Not much left to do now apart from cosmetic work.
Needless to say, I am extremely happy with my 16VT
