I know this is hardly a "running" forum, but wondered if there would be any interest in having a similar style thread to the weight loss thread.

Perhaps along the lines of the below format:

Distance: 5k
Personal Best: 22mins 20secs
Current Time: ???
Target Time: 20 mins

If we get some interest I will do similar to what Theresa is doing.

Let me know your thoughts?

Go for it. I have a half-marathon (my 2nd) on Feb 19th.

Problem is I've not run since the last one I did in September! I've had injuries though, but really need to get training as I'm aiming for sub-2 hours.

Seems like a good idea for a thread. It might be good to think about whether we can help to sponsor some of the charities who have been supporting some of the people on here.

I've been doing a few 10k events.
Personal best is 54 minutes.

I'm also entered for Reading Half Marathon on April 1
(my first)
Target time is under 2 hours, but that is probably a bit optimistic.

Im with MrR I'm afraid.

I'm all for keeping fit/losing weight but running/jogging interests me about as much as a romantic evening with John Prescott sick

I like the idea of running, but I like the idea of drinking, smoking and eating unhealthy food as well, hence my times are a bit poor compared to the above laugh

Distance: 5k
Personal Best: Not done one for years, was about half an hour.

Distance: 10k
Personal Best: Never done one...
Normal long training run is about 13k and very off road, which I do in around 1h 15m.

Distance: Half Marathon
Personal Best: 2h 15m 56s (2011 GNR)
Current Time: 2h 15m
Target Time: 2h 00m

Knocked my half marathon time down by half an hour over the last six years, still a way to go though.

i've never timed myself on 5 or 10k runs, but my best half marathon time is 1:54 i'm hoping to do the bath half in march, so must get out soon to start training, as above booze and food are my demise (plus i can't be arsed most of the time, and lack of a competitive streak doesn't help)

I'm in but the route really changes my times. In the lakes my 6.5 mile run is 52 minutes. It has a 400 foot climb over 1 mile after 1.5 miles in. My 6.5 mile route at work takes 50 minutes to get out changed, run, back, washed and a drink back at my desk.
I'll find my stop watch get times for five and ten killo meters. My aim for the year is to do some fell races and a half marathon.

I also run to work with a pack and often back with my shopping and clothing and shoes. I'll time that too.

My old cycle to work was nearly 10km and my best time was 17 minutes but it was a sunday. easier traffic. its a mountain bike. my pb for 10km on foot must be about 40.

Not sure of the correct medical terminology but I have a recurring problem with my ribs 'popping' out from their natural position where they meet in the centre on my chest (breast bone?). Hurts like hell for weeks afterwards & curtails running until the pain subsides a bit. I've already got two that now stick out by about 4mm (even after chiropractic treatment to try & put them back) and now a third - I felt the first two go at the time but this third one is a mystery; either done while contorting myself & stretching to clean & feed the leather in the back of the Coop last weekend or when weight-training. If an attractive blonde asks me I'll claim the latter...
