Has anybody noticed that the coop nowadays looks decidedly compact, some would even say small, compared to the modern metal around. For instance take a look in profile next time you park up in a car park. I'm sure I'm not alone in thinking this Don't get me wrong I like compact cars What other supposed "small" cars now have the dimensions of the coop?

Friends car 928 lower roof line, but more ground clearance and longer than the coupe. Newer cars have become larger in general.

I agree, nice and compact and free from electronic nannying.
Question in my mind is if the new Subaru/Toyota coupe has been kept down to Fiat coupe size or looks like "bloatware"

More than one person has asked me when I got the "little" Fiat. It's big enough inside, which is where it matters.
Modern cars are ridiculously flabby. Take the example of a year or so ago when I was at a barbeque and parked between my friend's vauxhall corsa and my other friend's honda civic. I was in a 1998 mondeo hatchback. The mondeo, despite being the most spacious inside, looked smaller than either of the "little" cars.

[b]New Golf-R: 2.0 TSI Weight 2.10 tonnes!
I know they're lardy, but if they've really become that heavy I'll trade in my sante fe for towing the caravan. the Santa fe is c.1800 - so not sure how the golf can be that much?
