I had the following (along with some other stuff) replaced in Sept 2010:

Track Rod ends
Wishbones
Drop links

Im just about to refresh my suspension (not brand new stuff) and was wondering if, from people's experience, would these need replacing again? prob done 10k since fitted.

Also is it worth getting a Powerflex front Bush set?

i would maybe replace the drop links as the bushes in them don't tend to last that long but the track rod ends and wishbones should still be fine

Yes the drop link bushes will need changing. Worth going to the polyurethane ones, for longevity.

I dont see how fitting used parts can be called a refresh?

Depending on what sort of use they have had, suspension parts with 10k of hard use could be in much worse condition than parts with 30k of normal use.

Poly wishbone bushes are good but the weak point is still going to be the ball joint at the end of the wishbone, give it a good inspection as they can become damaged (split rubber boot) when being removed.

I see you point Jimbo but its all about having the finances isn't it at the end of the day?

My wishbones are only 18 months old so i hope there ok.

Mine is completely apart just now and the wishbones, track rod ends and drop links have been on for 14 months. The wishbones, other than coat of paint, needed nothing and are going back on.

The only caveat is that the car is bog standard and they are genuine Fiat wishbones. The drop links are getting replaced because they are dirt cheap and wear quickly, the track rod ends are getting a coat of paint only.

It's really a 'case by case' argument on this one methinks

Ok I'm now in possession of some bilstein front shocks with standard springs, ready to fit.

I can get some rear KYB rear dampers to to go with the fronts but I'm a bit dubious of them making the ride too crashy.

What do people recommend rear damper wise?

I'm doing this all on a budget lol.
