Hey guys, I've got a friendly question because I need some friendly advice.

Now you may or may not know I have alot of car parts I need to sell, I'm not going into what, because people will bombard me with orders and there's soemthing I need to get straight first.

How do you post big stuff?

I modify alot of cars, and when you put a new bit on, you have the old bit left over, normaly the stuff has gone to the local tip, which is bad because it's mostly brand new. I'd put it all on ebay but I dont know how I'd go about posting it all.

You guys had any experiance with say posting a... front bumper or a set of alloy wheels? How do you wrap them, how do you post them?

Couriers are pretty good and reasonable, although i'm not sure i'd trust them with a bonnet or something as fragile. I use www.interparcel.com who have a range of couriers and services. Another good one for wheels etc is www.paisleyfreight.com

Use a proper carrier ie. Fedex domestic, Citylink, APD etc.
See the rep and agree a default daily collection slot and negotiate discount.
Buy a big roll foam and pallet wrap.
Will cost a lot less than you think and you can also track/POD consignments.

I buy most of my replacement parts (new or used) from the UK. The courriers that have worked the best for "large" articles, have been GLS and DHL. Best means good price, quick delivery and, of course, no problem with the items.

GLS and DHL if arranged by the UK seller. If they don't trust to sell abroad (unfortunatelly, that happens), I use my own courrier, with comes muuuuuch more expensive for me.

The largest parts I bought were a set of alloy wheels and a sunroof. But... the seller prepared a good package (with the above mentioned protection items) and I only had to arrange the pick-up.

By the way, I too could use some help from FCCUK members when in need of buying parts... rolleyes

Ah yes, the warehouse guys in work use that, it's fantastic stuff, I'll ask if they have a spare roll or two.
