I have dba discs at the minute with pagid blue pads which have been fine, if a little expensive.

The pagids are now pretty low and I don't know which pads to go for next?

Just fast road use, MIGHT do a track day this year, haven't done one before but I'm tempted, but basically, that is not to of the criteria.

Also, will the discs still be good after a set of pagid have been through them?

Thanks.

Do you not want to stick with the blues? They are pricey but a nice fast road pad.

If you've been happy with the Pagid Blue, I would recommend you stick with them. After more than a decade of forum members trying various brake setups, the Pagid Blue appears to be the best performing pad.

XP8's or the 10's, nothing touches these pads for breaking power.

Back on subject....

Also look at brake fluid if you've not changed it already, Castrol SRF or the Millers 300.

In the coupe.
I run on Standard disc's with pagid yellow pads also castrol srf. Most of my driving is just leisure /fast driving and about 3 or 4 track days and Spa each year.
They stop well at Spa along with 888s track tyres.
Even when very hot, no fade.
But i am only running near standard hp. But if you think about it i am still braking heavy from 120/140 mph speeds. So not bad on that set up.

I have heard alot about these Carbotechs.

Anybody got any good suppliers numbers for the Carbotechs AND the Pagids. Ill do alittle shopping around.

Does everybody think the discs will still be good? Never tracked and only had the Pagids go through them (and Pagids still have a little life on them, 1-2k maybe)

Thanks.

I hear the Carbotechs are very noisy and eat discs at a fast rate - but stop you very well!!

Oh god, I cant do brake squeel!

Some how I managed to get rid of 95% of the brake squeel on my car and I want it to stay that way! Ill never forget when I did have brake squeel it use to drive me crackers!

If at least one more person can confirm for me that the Carbotechs squeel then Pagid Blues it is!

Anything on the GB Nigel? Open, closed?

Best I can find so far for Pagids is 195 plus delivery.

Seriously man, try the Blue Stuff which I am currently running on my 16VT - stopping power from cold is fenom much better than the DS2500's. These pads are highly rated by Impreza's user and apparently able to cope with temps of 750*C wink

I am about to test them on track this Sat (weather permitting) and I'll let you know how they perform, thou, my 16VT is running standard bhp.

I don't get squeal on my brakes, but then again, I am running a different setup. MattM had the pagid's and they were falling apart after a couple of track days, went to CarboTech's and said he could brake much later with them. CC has them as well as HoveDan.

CarboTech can only be bought from http://www.carbotech-europe.com/ Drop them an email and they are very helpful. Tell Ian that I sent you wink

The last price on the GB for the Pagids is £145 plus £10 delivery, but that was a while ago. If its still that price then thats very, very good and I will be tempted to not waste any time and go with the tried and tested, reputable Pagid Blues.

Anybody have a rough idea on the Carbotechs price, just out of interest?

Otherwise I can call them tomorrow afternoon or Saturday morning anyway,

Thanks.

I have had a couple of Carbotechs too, since 2005 or so. The XP8 doesn't sqeel much I think, but the dust eats into the rim laquer, probably because it comes from the disc metal.. smile However they will stop anything at any speed. I suppose even ON ACTUAL FIRE they still wont fade.. laugh
Still they also work from cold. Amazing stuff.

Can anyone tell me the number of the pads for the Brembo calipers?

Is it CT968 or CT592?

I used Panther Plus some years ago. Great pads! I think I will try XP8 after I used up the EBC Yellow smile

EDIT: I used Carbotech in 2006 (shit that's 6 years ago smile ) . Old post here: http://www.fiatcoupeclub.org/forum/ubbthreads.php?ubb=showflat&Number=42925#Post42925

EDIT2: CT592 according to Ian (Carbotech UK).
