Excellent.

I hit one up the ar$e aged 18 in my mum's volvo 340 aka tank many many years ago (c. '84) with my mum and sister in the car. We'd just passed a wedding being held and Mum say's "oh look at that isn't that nice". Scanning for the bride and next second - bang. I caused a mile tailback up sidcup hill saturday morning. Noboby hurt except my pride. Volvo left with a dented bonnet; Princess complete write-off with it's wedge wedged into its back wheels unmovable. It was completely my fault and I've lived with the guilt for years. However on reading this I think that maybe I did mankind a favour for reducing the Austin Princess population by 1. With a boot as big as that I was never going to hit anything else.

Obviously an Italian car fan, given the examples he listed thumb

My dad had 2 of these and loved them, I had an Ambassador, it's successor, and it was far and away the worst car I ever had (and I can include an Allegro in my owned list blush ).

Love it. My mum had a Princess in BRG for a couple of years, never any problems, except that no matter what various mechanics tried, it always listed severely to starboard. Never had any effect on the sportscar style handling though... At the same time my aunt had an Ambassador in a lovely shade of brown which always had to be bump started, and i had my first car, a 1 litre denim blue/silver/rust Austin Metro. Fond memories. driving paper laugh
