My Stereo was playing up after 15 mins of driving. I assumed it was the stereo that was at fault & have put in a brand new one - BUT that comes up with 'wiring fault' and shuts itself down requiring a reset, again after 15 mins of driving.

I have looked at the fuse box & replaced the 20A fuse that serves the stereo, but no joy. The stereo is connected via the standard factory connector blocks.

Anyone got any ideas ?

Exactly. It's going to be either damage to the earth wire or the positive wire. I'd guess it will be behind the stereo where the fault lies.

I believe bockers had this problem a while back.

I'd go with cable connection - probably more than likely (the 15 mins it warms up and something there after is loosened or expands and then connection broken

my Alpine gets "cloud9" warm after only 10 to 15 mins of usage, mainly due (I guess) to the lack of decent ventilation in the back of that center console.

Other option - which is what I intend on doing, (prior to the boot build) will be to run seperate power to the head and pre-amp booster box and to the power cap (prior to finally hitting the AMP).

It was indeed the supply wire, I have run a new wire bypassing the power supply in the loom (fused of course)

Stereo hasn't missed a beat since, but I did buy a new stereo for no good reason - you live and learn laugh
