Helix probably won't sell direct to consumers

I've had my last three Helix Organic clutches through Mardi Gras Motorsport -

Unit 45 & 46,
Silverstone Circuit,
Silverstone, Towcester,
Northants, NN12 8GZ

CG, is that Barbz..? (TorqueItalia)
Barbz's organic is good anyway. As far as I could see it was pretty much a Helix-copy.. But much cheaper. smile

You better get the cash out then mate, they are not cheap, but they are bloody good and really nice to use. Saying that the only other clutch I've used is a 4 paddle which was awful. Heard good news about Barbz clutch though.

remember that if you want to save a few quid, when the Helix friction plate wears out, you can keep the cover plate - this is what I did last time

However, the splines on the cover plate are now quite worn (done over 50,000 miles) and it's juddering a bit on very low-rev starts

Iain - I had a genuine helix on my old coupe and it was brilliant. Near stnd as I've driven and held circa 320lb/ft.

In saying that, Barbz has said his one is just as good.

If I were you and lived within 60miles of the magician himself, I would be popping down for a test in a car he's fitted one to, and make my mind up from there!!

Use Nigel or Barbz,
The cg one is an organic friction plate but stock cover.

Barbz or Nigel will make sure you get the right quality clutch .

If you're expecting to put some decent power through the clutch, you'll need to extra clamping force that the Helix cover plate gives you. With a stock cover, you could be reducing the torque capacity considerably.

Something to bear in mid is that Helix are spectacularly cautious with their ratings. The Organic is rated for something like 275 lb-ft. I've been putting 350+ lb-ft through mine for years and even now, when it's getting near to the end of its life, it's still handling the power.

PM me if you want me to get you a price

Can't beat helix, there is something about them that just has that quality feel and it's pricey for a reason !
