So I'm out of action this weekend due to a mallet at full force/stuck locking wheel nut/knee incident grr & I'm wondering who else has come a cropper working on their coupe & was it avoidable?

I know mine was... sitting cross legged swinging downward furiously with a mallet is not how to do it. blush

Lol, 5 years ago, I received the mark of Voldemort and still have the slight scar now, although usually hidden by frown marks these days laugh

I was rubbing down/prepping the underneath of a customers Coupe bootlid on a table.

As it was near the end of day, I was tidying up all the rags, etc and leaned down quickly, to put the rubbish in the bin, when I somehow head butted the sharp corner of the bootlid.

Lots of blood and was due to start my new second job in about 20 minutes time, so had to clean myself up quick and get to the new job, which, funnily enough, was in a hospital laugh

Nearly every day,Perk of the job

last weeks job perks
That was the exhaust cam pulley when i slipped tightening the Idler.
118,and you can see the offending coupe in the background along with a pile of DNA on the floor.Again.

In fact someone asked me the other day if i did boxing as my hands are coveed in cuts and i had slipped with a breaker bar and wacked myself full on in the face.

I should work for someone else as i could claim alot of money if i injured myself on a staple,or a pen in the same way.

Everybody who knows me says that about me.
But a smash isnt as bad as a smack.
As a smack shapes the face into the formation of an 4rse.

And on that note i would say your the most smacked man alive.
Although Supporting Bham city is prob the cause of that,.

my tip for next time is tighten up the other three wheel nuts a smidgen, jack the car up and then remove the locking wheel nut which will be comparatively loose as you have pulled the wheel in tighter. then re torque all wheel bolts

My ex has a Coupe scar!

I opened the boot on my VIS and she ducked in quickly to put her bag in when the boot suddenly bounced back as it hit the fully open position. The bottom edge came down hard on the bridge of her nose!

We thought she might have broken it, but fortunately it was a cut which scarred.

Yeah the boot lid is a law unto itself especially in a sudden gust of wind when you're unloading the messages. Clocked me good and proper on the forehead a couple of years ago frown

Spare drivers door fell off the trolley jack and onto my foot when i was swapping them over after having to break into my own car a couple of months ago. rolleyes Prompted me to exclaim loudly "oh dear, i believe i may have broken a bone or two..." Or words roughly to that effect.

I was getting out the coupe quickly as it was raining and slammed the door shut on my middle finger. The door had actually shut and had to use the handle to open it.Squashed the end where your nail is .

Nail was Blue within a minute, black within a day and peeling off my finger like a onion within 2 days.

Lost my complete nail and took 6 months to recover fully.

Oddly enough, I did that on Saturday, but mine was taking a CV joint off and ended up smacking my thumb with a club mallet.

Only other permanent scar I have was when I was trying to put a piece of silicon on to a piece of ally pipe slightly larger and I slipped, ended up slicing a good chunk of my finger off. The lump was dangling there, so pressed it back down, covered it up and carried on working. I now have a lump of dead finger firmly attached to my finger now laugh

Do'h!! I wish I thought of that at the time! The car had been sat for a few years and the locking wheel nut was rusted and the crap fiat 'key' kept slipping. So i hammered one of my imperial sockets over the wheel nut and loosened it. Bearing in mind the car was being scrapped the following day, all i was interested in was getting my imperial socket back & not worrying about ruining the thread on the hub. I tapped it a few times... nothing..... So I made myself comfortable in a nice sitting down cross legged position rolleyes and started swinging downward rolleyes .... I think on swing number three I missed completely and made full force contact on the inside of my knee.
