Looks interesting. One door on the drivers side - two on the PX side. Might even make it past the concept stage, so they say.

Pininfarina Cambiano

The quesion is, with Pininfarina being just a styling house, who has commisioned them.

Looking at the shape of the car and some of the lines, i reckon this could be BMW.

I personally despise asymetrical cars. hurl
And the 2 + 1 door design just makes me think of the Hyundai Veloster. click to enlarge
But each to their own.
The rear end does look quite BMW-esque.

A previous article said it was an in house affair, to celebrate the 30th anniversary of the company's Styling Centre, and the 10th anniversary of its Engineering Centre. I don't know who else is working on a micro gas turbine/electric car - that might give some clues as to backers.

As for the 3 door/asymmetric layout - that might easily go if it was built (can't imagine the costs that would incur for a limited production model).

I do like the overall shape.

Don't hold your breath for a RHD version!
Also, promising a range of "over 200km" is only any good if it's 500km "over 200km".

Reminds me of a sixties/seventies US muscle car for some reason.

Er, didn't Pininfarina go bust a few weeks back? Or did they just close a factory or two?

This is the latest info I could find on Pininfarina - looks like they might be forced to give up the manufacturing side of operations (those going to Ferrari and Maserati) while they might keep hold of the design and consulting side of things.

Car and Driver article

Well. I looked for this at Geneva, but couldn't find it! It was crazy busy though, and I had a flight to catch.

So here are a couple of pics of another Italian sports car, by way of compensation...

Kinda nice isn't it?

Is this the one they featured on Top Gear at the weekend? They reckoned that at 200MPH without a windscreen Hammond's face would look like John Prescott's
