It just irks me a little that people show a photo of the dash with the engine not running.

What can we ascertain from that pic?

1. It has the red starter button LEs have.
2. We can just about read the figures on the odometer.
3. It has a 180MPH speedo. wink
4. It doesn't have those after market trim rings around each dial.

If the engine was running when the photo was taken we could have seen what warning lights were showing and what the oil pressure is.

I guess many won't buy blind but when eBay has a wide catchment area it seems a missed opportunity not to show information that any likely Coupe purchaser is likely to want to know and just result in questions from people that may be interested. It's not showing the car at its best.

I assume the used Coupe buyers guide in Practical Classics mentions oil pressure?

A picture of the oil pressure gauge doesn't tell you anything even with the engine running, far too many parameters affect it.

Where in this thread has an MG Maestro been mentioned until you brought it up? It's completely random and has nothing to do with the Chrono LE that we're discussing.

I want that LE.

The turbo maestro was a fast car when it was built in the 80's. You could open the doors with a tennis ball with a bit cut out to go over the lock. I drove one lots of times. Nowhere near the drive of a Coupe. Poor at cornering and slower.

As said though off topic.

Maestro turbo was brilliant.
I stepped down and swapped it for a metro turbo in the end.

I miss mine, everytime you steered around a corner the NSF wheel would plume smoke off the tyre in 2nd and 3rd as the suspension was so bad.

I remember the beige interior well, the only thing to compare to it was the more refined Punto Gt.

i agree not as good as a coupe,it will keep up but not at the top end,but still they are very rare and much sought after by men of a certain age

What's the paint like to match? It's as difficult and expensive as irridescent and chromafalir paints?

I've been looking at it again and the OS door appears a different shade.

Crono is a single stage paint not a met or pearl or 3stage pearl, it can be done in COB(clear over base)though.

I've been admiring the Crono pics in another thread. Street light reflections never looked so good.

Yes, anyone old enough to have Alzheimers.

Just because it had an MG badge and a turbo does NOT make it desirable. It may be rare, but that is because they are made of paper thin rusty steel.

Rare does not make something desirable. A bit like contracting Dengue fever whilst living in Berwick-on-tweed.

I contracted Dengue fever, but at least I had the excuse that I was in Rio. It wasn't fun.

It was not bid on as high as that. So wether it was bid on at 2k doesn't mean it would go that high, 2k would of secured a winning bid. In the last remaining seconds it recieved three bids which went from £1400 it was sitting at to the end price.

He had 2k to spend with no room for maintenance,so hes going to buy one a bit cheaper.
