My wife & I have bought a Giulietta which has become the daily drive, and my Coupe has been retired to weekend and 'special occassions' driving.

I must admit the Alfa is a great all rounder and very economical, but it's 2.0 JTDm isn't a patch on the 5 pot (obviously). My Coupe is currently sat outside our house with its downpipe split in two halves. Ironically it did this on the way back from buying the Alfa, leaving us stranded on the A3!

We've had the Alfa for 2 weeks now and the Coupe hasn't moved. I am sorely missing driving her!

It's pointless me selling my Coupe given their values at the moment and I have a huge emotional attachment. So what am I getting myself in for if I only drive my Coupe 2-3k per annum?

i would make sure that you try and drive it at least once every couple of weeks Gunzi as older cars don't like sitting around, i had an old rover coupe that i left for a couple of months and it didn't like it, seized brakes etc

not worth selling it as you say as sadly they aren't worth anything at all at the mo

That's a good point Doug, I don't want any strops in the future!

Perhaps "Fiat Friday" may be a good idea to keep the fuel running through the system and the rust off the brakes?!

Not just rust off the brakes but keep all those rubber seals from perishing and 6 days off a week will remind you just how great the coupe is wink

Mine's been on weekend duty for about 4 years.
Things like batteries and exhausts have been a bit more troublesome, the handbrake needs freeing up, but the big ticket issues don't happen, and it is rotting more slowly than if I was driving it through the rain, salt and grit every day.
I put up a garage tent to keep it dry a couple of years ago and that has helped a lot.

Gunzi! Our coupes could be twins if put side by side.

I took mine out for the first time in 6 weeks today.

Fantastic ! As usual. Check it out before you drive it ! Simples.

I love the coupe,as it is very dependable when cared for.

have you got a garage to keep it in, if not might be worth investing in a decent car cover to help protect the paintwork

I live in the city and the Coupe is parked on the street outside my house. I do like the car cover idea, cheers for that.

Magooagain, yours sounds really pampered!

Cheers for the input chaps.
