I recently spoke with Sarah at Niel Willies insurance about getting a quote for the coupe as its nearly finished and ready for the road after two years of tinkering and restoration.
When it came to value I said about £3500 as a friend just sold his with almost identical spec and very clean bodywork for this much, but realistically if someone nicked it or set it on fire I probably wouldn't be able to replace it for that.
What's your thoughts and how would you value your own car knowing the blood, sweat and tears that can go into keeping one in top condition . .

Back into retirement, for now at least . . . Broomy will come out to play next year smile

I have no idea how it works, but can you not pay a little extra for an 'agreed' price? I don't think you'd get £3500 for any coupé now if it was under 'Market Value' - recent prangs with decent cars (Came2dance and Shifty) have proved that.

Coopless!

The valuation form ideally needs to be completed by a garage, dealer, insurance valuer, accesser who should have a fair idea of how much the car is worth.

If you complete the form yourself then it asks for the cost of purchase and the cost of restoration/modifications - This is a good starting place.

The agreed value figure, should reflect the current market value of the car, what you would pay for a standard one in similar condition, mileage plus the receipts you have for the modifications.

Give me a call if you need some help.

Regards
Sarah
