I am getting fed up with my Mintex pads squealing (despite shims). I had a part worn set of Pagid Blues put on by Roger and they worked very well with little noise. Now considering getting a new set of Blues, but Roger cautioned saying that they were often squealing themselves.
What is your experience, do the PBs squeal?
Thanks

I had two sets of blues one after another and both squealed at very low road speed. At higher speeds they were silent

Is the yellow a step up from the blue?
I have the blue at the minute and they are nearly finished, they have been good but looking for a bit more bite, maybe the carbotech even. Just waiting to get paid at the end of the week and I'll place the order.
Now in the 400+ bhp club!

Yep, both yellows are a step up from the blue. Yellows are racing compounds whereas the blues are a "street" compound and for light track use. I'd tread carefully with the R29 compound, as I had 2 track days and a total of around 1600 miles from a set. This was after using at 3 sets the older R19 yellow compound succesfully with far better longevity. But, comparing either of these to carbotechs is like light and day. XP-8/10's are the way to go. BUT, they squeal like a herd of breeding donkeys, whereas the pagid yellows are much quieter. So for your use, and anyone who is looking for great performing pads for a daily drive, I'd err towards the pagid R19 compound. My tuppence FWIW

I think you should assume that all pads will squeal, and buy based on the performance you want, and then if they turn out to not squeal, that will be a bonus! Just turn up the ICE!

What rear pads do you use with XP8/10? Doesn't really make much difference in my experience. IIRC I put some ferrodo ds2500 pads on last time.

I've used Tarox sport pads @ rear, longlasting and worked well.
