I've got my front suspension done now (I was putting in Koni Sport inserts) but I didn't get round the problem of getting the lower pinchbolts in/out past the ABS sensor.
I had already committed to replacing the bolts so I cut the heads off the old ones to get them out. I ground off a section of the head-flange on the new one to give a bit more clearance, and forced it in past the sensor. Two bad things happened. It split the outer plastic sheathing of the ABS wire. The actual wire seems to be OK so I wound some self-amalgamating tape round to repair it. The other thing was because the bolt was forced in at a slight angle, it damaged the threads, and they stripped when I torqued up the nut.
So, there was nothing for it, the bolts had to go in the "wrong way", meaning I then couldn't get the torque wrench on the nut and had to tighten it by feel.
I know that the Turbo has different sized bolts (M12 versus M10 on my NA). Perhaps there is some other small difference in the setup that gives you the extra clearance to be able to get away with it on the Turbo?
