I've just got an email from Pro Alloy (along with all of the group buy people) to say that they have started selling a straight induction pipe at £75 (inc delivery), which seems like a good price to me. I think we all know the quality and reputation of Pro Alloy on here. Here is the link.

It basically makes the pickup smoother, less air restriction and makes the boost come in a few 100 revs lower on average from what ive read here. generally a good mod for anyone wanting to make the breathing for their coop better and offsets the lag you get with most bigger turbos &/or FMIC's a little.
Can anyone who phones up pro alloy ask what the inlet and outlet sizes are for the pipe as i need the standard bit one end, but 2.75" the other end as i may as well get the best out of it <img src="/forum/images/graemlins/smile.gif" alt="" />

Its a recirc one. needs one thing blocking off if you have an atmos dumpvalve.
It goes from turbo inlet to your air flow meter which then connects to your cone airfilter.
You need to have an FMIC for this mod.

Some people found that a dump to atmos and a straight induction caused the A/f sensor to missbehave a bit though...

Straight off the turbo compressor inlet. The AFM attaches to the end followed by an induction kit filter.

Some pictures here, with a not very straight filter arrangement. There will probably be more in the original ProAlloy Group Buy thread too.

I've just got a drilled airbox with panel filter so no good for me cone filter be it k&n/apexi/ramair whatever goes on the other end of the induction pipe. this whole setup replaces the airbox and associated pipework.

This straight induction pipe is ONLY for people who have done away with the standard side mount intercooler SMIC, which normally means those who have fitted a front mount intercooler FMIC. The straight pipe ends under and to the front of the battery tray, and the cone filter sits in the place previosuly taken up by the SMIC.
So if you still have the SMIC you will not be able to use the straight induction pipe.

fitting it is simple stuff, a few pieces of silicon hose and some hose clips. as for what comes in the kit its just the bare pipe, but theres nothing else required but a couple of pieces of hosing that can be sourced from the likes of http://www.rallydesign.co.uk/catalog/index.php?cPath=147_558_559&sort=2a&page=2IAin

The taper adds a fair amount to the cost. ProAlloy can do a 3" (no taper) pipe for approx £45 + VAT (i.e. £30 + VAT cheaper!). This should fit GT28R[S] series turbos with 3" inlets (standard on the GT28RS and optional on the GT28R).
