Well, after a few saturday night drinks..
I started working out what I have changed on my coupe..

The list started off as a joke... Then got serious.

So, from the top...

3 bonnets
3 front bumper's
1 set of side skirt
1 rear bumper
Both doors
1 engine
3 clutches
3 cam belts
1 gearbox
1 turbo
1 manifold

I've missed out wheel bearings ect because that is really wear and tear!!

But that is a stupid list..

Also interested to see if any one else on here is as stupid as me and changed countless body parts and mechanical parts.

Think I've done alright for how long I've had it

2 clutches
1 gearbox
2 exhausts
1 set of springs
Then 1 full suspension refresh
Oh and an interior!
(and a respray)

Hmm maybe I have spent a few quid!

Tbh the list could go on but they're things changed out of choice not nescesity.

Back into retirement, for now at least . . . Broomy will come out to play next year smile

In 8 years and 55k miles during my ownership (sold car about 8 months ago):

Front bumper,
Skirts,
Cambelt etc (2)
Manifold (1)
Oil cooler +pipes (2)
Radiator (1)
Front springs (1 pair)
Exhaust (2)
Wishbones

Which I think is pretty good compared to my Alfa GT which I bought 8 months ago with 29k on the clock:

Engine (1)
Diff (1)
Clutch (1)

In less than 3k miles!

In seventeen years and 160k miles...
  • one engine
  • one bonnet
  • one boot
  • one front and one rear bumper
  • one sunroof
  • tyres without number
  • cambelts at least four
  • alternators ditto
  • brakes and discs on every corner numerous times
  • entire suspension including the rear subframe, springs, shocks, and bushes
  • lost count of the wishbones, droplinks etc
  • one driveshaft (I think; that might have been on the 20vt)
  • rear wheel bearings...
  • the radio

And I think I may have changed the oil once or twice...

So now it's just about ready for a bare metal strip'n'dip respray and rebuild...

Does porkypaul stealing parts from my coupe to put on other coupe members cars count as 'what have you changed to your car!!!! evil

Only left him with my keys for 15 minutes and now have no dump valve, it's being replaced with some trashy noise that makes my car sound like it has a gas leak!!

Is there a section on here or a mod I can talk to about putting in a complaint!! grr

You'll soon learn our ways laugh

I'm sure Paul will make it up to you in other ways laugh

(In the meantime, get some studying about cars done and learn to steal bits from his. I'll teach you if it's for my benefit. LE seats aren't hard to take out, that can be lesson No 1) laugh

Now I use the term "I" loosely, although I have done some work myself, inevitably it has gone wrong and JBT has done it properly and/or checked things over! laugh thumb

Cambelt (1)
Auxbelts (3)
Oil Cooler and pipes (2)
Clutch
Exhaust (cat back)
Coolant hoses
Radiator
Heater Matrix
Power steering pump
Drive shafts and hubs
Wheel (buckled x 1 - JBT has now shamelessly painted it "Marco" pink! laugh )
Rear caliper and line
Thermostat
Wheel bearing
Turbo
The 'orn(s)

Service items (lots of times)

I am sure I am forgetting lots of stuff there, but its a start! laugh
