The GT-R is in a class of it's own due to the fact that it competes with much more expensive, well-established marque supercars.

Essentially, it is doing what the NSX did many years ago - make the big boys step their game up.

After all, fifty plus years of racing heritage doesn't mean much if you're getting trounced by a newcomer.

If you feel that way then great, aspire to owning one. It's for that very reason I wouldn't choose one.

I'd rather go fast with taste than faster without. I'm pretty sure I wouldn't want to go to dinner with anyone who's ever bought a GTR.

Simply an Awesome car.Out of the box and value for money the Gtr is second to none.
But always a car that looks dated both inside and out even before its production.

Love the reliability and the sound and always have.But i never have trouble handing back the keys to the owners.

I'm with Brewster on this I really don't like the GTR.

I really, really wouldn't. I would gladly have a thrash in someone else's, but I'd have to wear a disguise. And do it in the outback. In a tunnel.

They are the epitome of everything that's wrong with performance cars these days. I'm sure they're amazingly fast, but until the industry as a whole realises that there is more to a car than that then we'll keep having "amazing" Nissans produced.

Nobody interesting has ever bought a Nissan.

Hit the nail on the head there Brewster. I would much rather own an F40 or a XJ220 that has style and none of the electronic gizmos.

If i had the money i would rather keep it in the bank or put a good deposit on a house than buy the Datsun or the Beetle.

Either way theres no point in considering buying something with the money we will never have.

The thing is F40 money is in a different league, not rally a fair comparison.

What would you rather have a 911 Carrera S OR M3 OR GT-R?

For me none of those I would prefer a Ferrari 355 for that sort of price range.

I'm with you on that one, if your talking second hand cars for that money, I would go for a F430.

I was suprised yesterday by how rubbish the F430 sounds.

out for a walk and i hear "a wet fart in a baked bean can" exhaust typical of your corsa or saxo barryboys. I turn round to see that it's an F430!

It wasnt until it got 2/3rds up the rev range that it sounded

Driven a gtr..awesome car to me and wouldn't hesitate buying one if i had a load of cash.

Compared to when i drove the r8 which was also fab the gtr felt like it was on another level.

Haven't driven a Ferrari or Porsche to compare.

Have now owned a litchfield stage 1 GTR for a month. No it isn't a beautiful thing nor the height of taste. I don't care. It's your own personal jet fighter with 4 wheels and makes the 911tt I owned feel like a golf gti. I won't keep it forever as I fancy something lighter and more tactile at some point but right now it's one hell of a ride.
