Hanny had a good guide for doing this - maybe PM him. You can get the paint from Halfords...

I did mine the other month and found it easy and very satisfying. Bought a second hand set and had the tyres removed. I then rubbed down the whole wheel with wet and dry to find all the imperfections. Next was rubbing down minor imperfections with 1200 grade wet and dry until no longer there (only possible with minor ones) I then applied body filler to the major marks, gouges etc. Let it harden and rubbed down with 600 W&D and then finished it with 1200 grade. I thoroughly clean the wheels and then applied filler primer for it's first coat on the face of the wheel and the inner. Looked for any imperfections, rubbed them down and then applied normal primer, then another coat. Inbetween coats I left the wheel overnight in my boiler cupboard to harden the paint. When happy with the finish I started on the top coats in pug cossack grey. Again the usual applies and gave 3 coats instead of one thick runny one!! Again spending a night on the boiler between coats. When I was happy with the top coat they got 3 coats of laquer, I used normal laquer not petrol resistant and the finish is great. One point to remember if you use petrol reistant laquer you can't then overcoat it with normal laquer, it won't take. Again between coats of laquer they went in the boiler cupboard overnight. I then took them and got the tyres refitted and got no damage at all. It did take about 3 weeks total which is why I bought a spare set of wheels so I didn't have to rush them. Total cost including paint etc and refitting was probably £50 - £60. Best bit for me is looking at them and thinking "I did them!!" If you want any more info then send me a PM.

Nice one, coupedave. I too love the satisfaction of doing something myself but if it's going to cost £60 doing them myself I might just pay £100 to have them done professionally. Just need to find somewhere local. First place I asked round here said £200

Dont get me wrong ive done a set myself, the ones on our C2 Furio are the white GT style ones but whiter than standard which looks ace on the black!
When thye need doing again in the future ill get them done by someone else and the ones on our Xantia as well as its so much easier with sandblasting and a proper sized oven to do them in
