Ive been skimping and holding out for a while now and I am in serious need of V-Power petrol now for my FC Performance mapped car.
Ive even had to resort to ringing all the Shell garages in my area to see if they have any in and after trying around 5 or 6 they all have NO V-POWER!

Ive heard before that ther is something else I can use that will be safe and my car will love but cannot remember if it BP or Tesco and what RON fuel I need. Remember my car was mapped on V-Power.

Please help......

Thanks you.

Stay clear of BP Ultimate - Tesco 99 is your best bet (now called "momentum")

What about putting normal unleaded in and adding some octane booster from Halfords etc? Not cheap but might get you out of a hole.

Just get Tesco 99 mate. There's no other 99 fuel on the market.

BP used to do a 102 octane fuel at selected petrol stations, but they stopped that a while ago.

When I filled up earlier this week at Tesco, their 99 fuel was only 1p a litre more than their 95.

16VT and X1/9 1500

We must all do our part for the planet.
I unplugged a row of electric cars that nobody was using.

There appears to be no V-Power anywhere in the SE; just need to find my nearest Tesco!

Would regular fuel cause any problems - my VT6 is mapped for 99, and I've been running on fumes for a couple of days.... I have some 95 that I use for the mower crazy

i think its causes what the technical people call knock or pre det which can damage your engine, i think if you ran out of fuel and put some normal fuel in but never booted it you would probably be ok

I remember Flea saying that using 95 RON on a car mapped for 99 would be pretty catastrophic. I wouldn't risk it. You'd be okay with 97 as a temporary measure?

Coopless!

I'm going past a Tesco this afternoon - just hope they have some 99. There has been no VPower available round here for a week evil . I need a few litres to get to Horsham on Monday; my Sprinty is FAR too scruffy to go. Lovely inside but little paint on the exterior!

You can use 95 octane Tim for normal driving, just don't take it hard on boost as that is where the engine will suffer.
