Was just about to post the same link, funnily enough it was on auto trader briefly for 5k, must have had some interest as it was quickly re-listed for double the price shocked

Ahhh, soon the Coupe will be up at the heady heights of... a 1980's ford sierra

Still it's good to see someone with balls valuing a coupe as it should be and not as a throw away motor:)

This one is easy.

SWMBO: Sell that damn car!
Dude: Okay (sheepishly)

Dude lists car for 10k. A month later...

SWMBO: Why haven't you sold that damn car???!!
Dude: It's not my fault! Nobody wants to buy it!

Dude keeps driving Coupe. Dude wins.

The end.

Where else can you get a damn good looking sports car, something a bit different than the plain old normal sports/fast cars, low mileage for less than 10k???

Good luck to him I say if I had the money I would buy it esp as its in mint condition and it only does the coupes good this publicity smile

I cannot agree more.

The *very last* thing we should be doing is looking for five hundred quid cars...

To be perfectly frank, having had my first 20VT brand new in 1998, and two more since 2006, if I had 10k I wouldn't spend it on a Coupe. Not even a mint Sprint Blue.

Agreed.

One of the attractions with the coupe, is that it's a lot of car for the money. At that price, it's a lot of money for the car.

You can get a lowish mileage Maserati 3200GT for that money. Ok, so not so good on fuel or cost of maintaining, but certainly a bit different, Italian and good looking! (Just like the Coupe) The key difference is the Maserati has the badge, big engine, 1 more turbo and is newer. Therefore you can justify the money spent.

I can see Coupes reaching 4-6k mark again when all the good examples are left, but 10k... slightly too much!
My sprinty is Mint, problem is the mileage is 176k, even though it could be in better all round condition than an unused low miler, i can only value my car around the 1k mark in the current market. I personally feel it's worth much more, but not 10k...

You forgot the other key difference - the Massers head-gasket will turn to papier mache and you will need to cough up £10k for a new engine wink

Not sure I agree, Ross.

We've all seen what happens when people buy coupes at giveaway prices... the price needs to be high enough to persuade people both that it's worth *having* and that it's worth *maintaining*.

And to be honest, in most cases at current prices, it's neither... it's the idiots like me that spend more than the value of the coupe on cambelts, brakes, tyres and service.

I've grown rather fond of N707 but I'm not fool enough to think I'll ever get back what I've spent on it.

Having said that you can do an awful lot of work on a £1k car before it becomes more economical to buy a £10k car (9k's worth to be precise). Which may just lunch itself anyway..

Of course, you can ASK anything you like for any car. Selling it will be another matter. That price seems unrealistic, but hey, if someone pays for it...

Exactly.
When the cars get low in value and rare some traders knock there heads together and hike up the price of all there ''fictional''stock.
Then when they get a car in of similar spec they will list it a few quid cheaper.
Clever,very clever.

If i were looking for a nice low mileage coupe,in the best colour which has always been sprint blue then i would happily depart with 10k to own such a rare car.

There are less than 15 Coupes on Pistonheads, 7 of which are sold. When I bought mine in 2007, there were regularly 50+. At some point, surely, supply and demand will sort out to raise the prices a little? Not that it'd affect me, mines worth vastly more to me than even an optimistic £2k price tag.

Wake up people, please wink coopes are not as rare as you might think they are. There may be very few examples left in the UK but there is plenty of them available in the EU.

I agree that they're very cheap to buy in the UK, probably too cheap but hey... Reality is, the UK market is very much brand driven and FIAT is not amongs the favourite ones!

IMHO, I can't see how £10k for a coop can be justifed. Integrales for example are about £6k+ and they have racing heritage whereas the coops don't. As much as I love them I believe they're not worth £10k and they won't be (at least not anytime soon).

The curious things is there ARE many more coupes on the continent but they are also much more expensive than here. The car market here is goosed for "pre-owned" cars pretty much
