Can anyone tell me why videos won't play on my Mac pro? if I restart it plays ok and then a day later it will just stop playing you tube vids etc until I do the whole restart thing again. There must be a quick fix for this anyone? it's really annoying me now!
Thanks in advance.

Well, you really need to come to the IT Helpdesk in the first instance. I'll pass your query on to the appropriate technician.

Jim?

ooh you are lucky!

You must have the Support ++ package. Normally you would just get a ticket number from an automated email indicated that your case would be looked into in the next 48 hours.

And that's with the Support + package!

With the standard Support package you just get some links to FAQs for keywords that the email scanner picked up.

Yes, he's getting the best that money can buy.

Have a go at downloading and installing the latest Flash version. Apparently that is the commonest video problem for Macs.

The other thing, of course, is the browser. I assume you are using Apple Safari (h.264, version 4+). If not, can you get hold of it?

1. Update video drivers?

2. From the Safari Menu Bar click Safari/Empty Cache. Relaunch Safari and try again.

Good. The helpdesk is, indeed, here to help.

What made the difference?

Did all of the above, plus a new version of Safari with a fix for the problem I was having, it includes an automatic update for flash player or something.
