My car needs new pads. The brake discs seem fine with no shudder and little sign of wear on the faces. There is thouth a small lip on the outer edge. I was going to get my mate to run them through a lathe and take off the lip but want to make sure there is eneugh left to do this. Can't seem to find the min thicknes figure though!

Also what discs are people now using? I had 3g's previously but it seems they have gone!

The min thickness is stamped on the disk

Which Model Coupe? front or rear?

22x284mm rotors are 20.2mm minimum.
Rear rotors are 9.2mm

The rule of thumb with Fiat, is a wear limit of 1.8mm from new

Got them all off. The fronts are close but with more wear to the rear of them than front I have decided to replace them.

So glad I fitted the Brake Pad wear indicators when I put the Red Stuff pads in. It was the illumination of that lamp that made me look and both front inner pads are more worn than the outers..... Close to metal on metal in fact!

I have also discovered that both front hoses are split at the strut end, again! It seems they don't last too long.

Anyhow.... Discs. Anyone got MTEC? Any good?

Expect I'll go EBC Reds all round too, do we have any active discount codes with any of the numerous EBC outlets?

Cheers

Bob

I do like the look of the MTEC BLACKS, just not heard of them before.

Some years ago I bought some Brembo repair kits, so I have now decided to overhaul the calipers too. Quite a simple strip down realy with no issues so far, that said I am not looking forward to getting those stainless pad guide bolts out!

I have drilled M-TEC Blacks front and rear, there was a group buy about a year ago, well pleased with them, the black stops rust on the non wearing surfaces
