Did anyone on this forum buy a coupe new from a main dealer and still have it today??

What was it like driving off that forecourt with almost nothing on the clock?!?!? That must have been a good feeling!

Back into retirement, for now at least . . . Broomy will come out to play next year smile

I collected a brand new Sprinty from a dealer and straight on to the autobahn in 1998. I have never, ever, enjoyed a new car like I did that one. It was a very fast run home cool , especially as I was running with a mate who'd had his Sprinty 4 days. Unfortunately it was moved on about 8 months, 9000 miles and a set of fronts later blush

So if you own an S reg Sprinty with black leather, sunroof and aircon, it may have had a hard start in life. Particularly as not many Beemer, Merc, Audi etc drivers knew how quick it was smile

Yup, brand new, Desira on Brewer Street in London. The car's lasted about sixteen years longer than the dealership.

It was a rather fine feeling, spoilt only *slighty* by the bloke in the new Ferrari that pulled up alongside at the lights...

I met a chap at Stanford Hall at the Auto Italia meet last year who had an identical Steel LE to mine from new. He wanted to chose the colour but it was at the stage when Fiat UK had initially stated there would only be 200 LE's so was told only Steel was available at the time. Still, he's kept it this long so must still be happy with it!

I've had mine almost from new. Bought at auction in Feb 1997 (saving at least £3k and avoiding a 6 month waiting list at the time!) with 1700 miles on the clock, it came direct from Fiat (UK) and was a press car but not used for any magazine road tests AFAIK (although many of its close "relatives" Pxxx CCF featured in many articles at the time, ie: Oct/Nov 1996)
