Is anyone else playing it? So far I think its been a little easy to achieve all the Gold stars don't you think? Don't get me wrong on most of them I'm only in the top 5,000 or so but that ain't half bad. I'm still using the standard controller so no fancy steering wheels for me. The real task comes when the final race(s) come up in a few weeks and then I need to start setting some fast laps. Having a little baby doesn't help

I saw this on TV a couple of years ago. The fastest times in the computer game get to race real cars?
What console is it on, and what exactly do you need to do?

PS3, free to download (even if you don't have GT5).
It used to be one lap of a certain track and the top 50 or so go through to a qualifying day. Then gets narrowed down to 2 or 3 and they end up racing in endurance/gt racing.
This years is slightly different. You have around 8 rounds of qualifying (1 round of tests released per week) and you need to pass them all in order to progress, rather like the licenses mode on Gran Turismo. There are 26 ish days left so you have more than enough time to get practising. Last year I was in the top 3,000 people but still atleast 3 seconds off the pace on a 1min 30 lap. Some people are very very quick and it helps to download the ghost car of the top racers.
Good luck.
Chris

Bummer, I don't have a PS3! I have a 360. Shame, as I'd love to have a go.
Actually, my sister and bro-in-law have a PS3, although I can't see them letting me borrow it or spend hours on theirs putting in practice as he uses it a lot for COD!

The real task comes when the final race(s) come up in a few weeks and then I need to start setting some fast laps. Having a little baby doesn't help I just downloaded it last night and did the first round. Yes bit easy to win cups. Need to get other rounds done so I can enter last live round before it ends in 12 days. my best in round 1-3 gets me top 2,400 in world. (1st time I was ranked 854,700) so I guess I'll take that. Be interesting to know where that would rank in UK only. My worst is Round 1-5 which i'm about 11,000 ish If they only had a seniors over 50 years compo I'd be right up there I'm guessing that the previous rounds do not matter so long as you qualify for next round, and it's the last round that is now live that counts? PM me with your PS3 user name so we can compare times and help each other.

My username is nobbycoupe.
The next round started yesterday I believe so I'll probably have a play tonight.
Lego - they do get a lot harder, but still relatively easy for anyone who's played it a lot. I hope the big final round is with something powerfull like a GTR.

Had a few good games last night. Not done them all but I'll whop through it tonight. Has anyone else had any problems with GT Academy locking up when on the menu? I posted a truly superb time on one race but it locked up meaning I had to turn it off and on again Only 10 days left chaps! Your times are pretty quick Jake

Not had any problems. Got another stage done, but too many things going on last night, and getting interupted to get a decent session.
