I wonder what is the worst repair you've ever managed on your coupé?

If anyone has seen my wanted ad you'll know my gearbox mount bolt has bent. Well today I managed to press it out and straighten it on the press.

The car will never see the road like this but the car needs moving. Perhaps one of my finest bodges.

The worst bodge i've done so far, was after my exhaust downpipe snapped whilst visiting the mother in law in London during a bank holiday weekend.

One jubilee clip and a wire coathanger later, the remains of which can be seen in this pic;



And the Coop handled the 497 mile journey home without missing a beat, ready for it's date with the welder.

I managed to costs thread 2 wheel nuts in my hub to get me home from Belgium following the heat ripping the bolts out.
Needs must.

Only bodge I've ever been forced to do was on my 330 when teh throttle cable snapped, jammed it open at 3000 rpm. Must've looked at sounded like a right donkey!

Let's just say lorries were overtaking me

When I had my old Red 20VT I had to pick my daughter up from her holiday club. I made the mistake of parking over a raised kerb. When I reversed out three was a bit of resistance followed by a snapping sound. I'd managed to rip the undertray off all but 2 of the clips.

I couldn't re-attach it with the broken clips and was unable to remove it completely. Luckily my daughter had a packet of Scoobies. I used a dozen of these to make a temporary repair that lasted until I sold the car
