Yet another set back!!
I bought a clutch a few months back off someone on the forum, it was a 6 paddle one from the JBT group but that someone couldn't get on with and was removed after around a thousand miles and sold to the guy I bought it off! The seller told me it hadn't been fitted again as he hadn't got round to it.... Bargain!
I hadn't intended to fit it untill later this year as funds were very tight and Flea was just gonna go as far as he could mapping wise with my old one...
My work picked up a little last month or so I thought sod it, I'll get flea to fit clutch then
We can be a little more aggressive boost wise and get the best out of my engine!
So clutch was due to be fitted yesterday, Leighton calls me and says there is a problem..... Getting quite use to that phone call!!
He told me the friction plate was bent slightly and couldn't really work out how that would have happened??? He said they could have a go at straightening it!
Had a message later in the day saying that clutch was in and would test it this morning!!!
Well it's worse than my original clutch was!! Slips soon as on boost!
So from JBT originally fitting it, to barbz removing it after a thousand miles due to judder, its buggered! I don't think so! I think the clutch has been bodged onto another vehicle, run for a while and then removed again and sold to me?!
JBT and Barbz are 2 of the most reputable guys on the forum and I think they may have spotted the kink in the friction plate and also flea mentioned that there was uneven wear on paddles, weird as I spoke to the original owner of the clutch and he told me that's barbs had remarked that the paddles were barely worn at all??
You live and learn hey,... well I don't!
So need to get new clutch now, a PROPERLY new one!

Every time I' ve tried to cut a corner I've been stung.....
Genuinely thought I 'd be ok with this clutch tho as people sell 2nd hand ones all the time on here seemingly without many probs!
Rant over..... Just off to rob a bank!!
