I have 215/35/18's on my car at the moment. The ride is a little harsh rolleyes

Would I be ok to fit 225/45/18's to improve the ride a bit?

215/40/18 will give you some more sidewall, I would imagine 225/45/18 will rub on the inner arch liner on lock and give you huge speedo (not the budgie smugglers) errors.

I am sure the eagle f1 asymmetric 2 are designed for a softer ride, reviews seem to think it helps.

Hmmmm, my coupe is only a weekend car so not to fussed about the speedo errors as could set up the sat nav and work out what 30,40,70 read on the speedo.

Really just after a better ride.

Jim, whats wrong with the 80's speedo's then ;-)

The more correct 225/35-18 would also soften the ride a bit.

(People forget it's "35" PERCENT of the tire width..)

I had 225/40/18 on my pro race 1.2 rims and they did rub a bit on full lock and a little on the rear arches, the speedo read spot on though all through the range (I checked it with GPS) its way out on the 45 profiles and plus rims!!

Back into retirement, for now at least . . . Broomy will come out to play next year smile

225/40/18's may be the way forward for me then.
