My Coupe crossed another milestone yesterday when it passed 150k miles in my ownership, just over 8 years. The total is now 184k miles and I'm hoping for lots more yet.

The rate of accumulation of miles has slowed as the Coupe is no longer my main car, but it doesn't get left for long without being driven (provided it is working properly wink ). Hopefully it will be doing some track days and hillclimbs in the near future.

Congrats! thumb

So much for Fiat unreliability, eh? laugh

On that topic, Mrs Stan's SEAT Leon has just tipped past 270k miles in her ten years of ownership, and for the first time has failed its MOT due to a hidden captive nut in the front subframe shearing off after new wishbones had been fitted. We suspect the new rubber/stresses on the weld caused it to shear but we'll know more when we get the grinder out and butcher it open to investigate before fitting the new subframe.

Modern cars, 80's onwards, do seem capable of mega-mileages if driven sensibly and serviced properly, well done! bow

Thanks Stan.

Despite my little comment about working properly my Coupe has generally been pretty reliable, never failing to complete a journey itself. It needed a few suspension bits for the MOT last year and the year before the oil cooler pipes needed replacing which took a little while, but those are the only things that have taken it off the road for more than routine replacement of bits.

I have replaced the oil every 6k miles and will continue to do that, if not more often, and have been using Halfords track day 5-50 oil for a long time now so it is obviously OK for the Coupe.

There are a few rattles and clonks now but only to be expected with the miles the car has done. Just hope the MOT in August isn't too painful!
