I've been having to travel around a bit more for work over the last 18 months.
I use the 'pool' car (which only i use) to get about in which is a BMW 116D. Gut less but in nearly 3 years it has been faultless.
Not once has it squeaked or rattled & uses next to no oil at all. (also been driven how a company car should be driven ;))
It's due to be replaced later in the year & i'm thinking 123D coupe next time.
The 123D coupe with M pack & leather just falls within budget.
But this time it would have a twin turbo diesel with over 200bhp, which will be a vast improvement.
Has anybody had any experience which these ?, thoughts opinions ???
I'm going to the BMW dealership on tuesday to have nose around them.

I've had a ride in one and they seem a pretty astounding package. Good grunt, but 50+mpg is easily achievable. Of course they're not as exciting as a 135i, but compared to a 116d it'll be a rocketship. I seriously considered one when I was doing a lot of personal commute miles, but it's no longer relevant to me.

It does seem a good package, i've seen a few reviews saying it's quicker than a Golf GTI & does over 50mpg.

A contractor I worked with recently has one, and he really raved about his 123D. Only dodgy part, as with modern BMW's, is the run-flats.

Nice car, great engine and economy and a decent drive.

Not so sure about the styling though...

Apropos of which... I followed two of the BMW competition cars for a while on Friday. They're even uglier in the flesh than here: https://golden.bmw.co.uk/

Is a 3 series Coupe not on the list?

Much better looking. IMO

A 325d is get close to 123d performance but it's over £5k more & lower spec'd.
Plus the tax is more too.
