It just so happens I'm in Las Vegas for a few days and staying at the MGM so I thought it would be rude not to go and see the fight last night.
Now I'm not really up to speed on UFC rules but I'm sure kneeing someone in the head when they are down on the floor is one of the big no no's? Surely on an event as big as this one they would have employed a ref who a) Knows the rules and b) Was watching the fight?
All the fuss and build up to the fight and it was over in minutes because one guy blatantly cheated, I felt a bit cheated myself, tickets weren't cheap!
Anyone else watch the fight?

I watched it this morning after recording it overnight - it's clear from all the replays and from professional comment that Anderson kneed him in the chest not the head. It is illegal to knee to the head a downed opponent but it wasn't the case here. I expect many americans in the crowd would have felt it illegal but surely the big-screen replays were visible to the crowd?
i love the UFC but most of last nights fights were less exciting than usual, and I'd also like to have seen Ortiz retire with a win....

I've not watched any replays but Sonnens comment at the end of the fight was pretty cutting in saying it was a good victory for Silva and a good knee strike to the head when he was down!
The crowd did go a bit mental, there was going to be some serious wife beating when they got back to their trailers that night!
