grr frown cry

Leighton took car out to fully test clutch this afternoon on some dry roads...
Couldn't get past 1.2-1.3 bar without total slip, release bearing is noisy all the time also! Leighton said the torque kicks too hard when the turbo comes in!!
Back to the drawing board!!
On the plus side, bigger turbo doesn't seem to be too laggy, 1 bar at 3200 in 4th gear, Flea says turbo comes in like switch!!

Drum roll please.........

Clutch has arrived!! ...... Sorry Marco!!

Won't be long now tho!!

Well we discovered when having turbo rebuilt that it is in fact an Evo 1 intergrale turbo... Tb0385
Was wondering what exhaust housing the the intergrale ran as standard?? 48 or 63ar?

Any way this guy in Greece seemed to get some good figured with this turbo on a virtually STOCK engine.... Reliable aswell considering boost levels!!

http://www.guy-croft.com/viewtopic.php?t=1033

Impressive!!

It's a 0.48 A/R turbine with the TO4s compressor

The .63 AR turbine housing is supposed to be too large for a 2 litre engine. It will be interesting to see what the dyno says! Maybe expect boost to come in a little later than with the .48 housing (i.e. be a bit laggier) but with more at the top end? Cosworth boys used to seek out the rare .55 AR housing as the best compromise.

Well a guy called Vas (old forum member) used to have pretty much exactly my set up, also with 63 housing making 357 bhp @ 1.2 bar!
He said he had full boost by 3800 revs which doesn't seem to laggy!

A lot of the big power 20vt's use 63 housings to good effect??
Saying that though they're using ball bearing turbos rather than journal!!

We'll see what happens!!

OMG..... This thread was started 10 and a half months ago ... Lol!

A couple of us are running .82ar housings and Angelo is running an .86ar.

Lag definitely comes into play, so it all depends what you want from your setup.
