I have recently been tempted to upgrade the dc5 everyone is says this says im mad?

Pros- 400 in uk very unique look mine being phase 2
2ltr na, with dececnt mpg pace wise m46m3 with a few mods. forgot to mention they handle as well as a similar spec evos round b roads with the evo pulling out a little quicker but the teg reels it in near stock fq300

Neg- parts honda are stocking less parts daily as imprort only which for a knock sensor was £113 frown
as also import insurance is high £750 27yr 8yrnc im cheaper on a uk spec gtr35 gtr lol.

I dont like the image of the boy racer hence subarus and evos arent for me are the dc5's now falling into this status? for example I was at my local morrisons and the now chavd ep3 owners are giving it the usual that between the cars their is no difference as evo mag somehow proved. on the road a stock dc5 is at least 20bhp per ton more.

What is concerning is the price i see the ep3 civics some going for less than 3k dont get me wrong mine is a top dc5 stage 1.5 na and the money i have spent recently on tuning + maintaince is at least 3k.

Any ideas or do i keep the iconic rare car?

Get it K-pro'd and the car will be transformed, They are very quick once done,

The difference between my old EP3 with 4 branch etc... and an Ep3 with the same mods + KPRO was massive, and the noise.....

Worth looking at http://www.gotboost.co.uk/ They offered a Unichip mapping for half the cost of the Kpro with still 30bhp+ increase...

Already got unichip fitted with 241bhp and 1170 kg so its quick as you can see from my terminal trap of 103.4mpg on a 1/4 mile.

My main concern was the image of car, do people see this as they do a evo or scoob?

Its really fun keeping pace with near stock evos 300bhp in a na car but when they are tuned we all know what happens lol

Another aspect similar to the coupe back a couple of years 'guy a petrol station comments on the car having not seen one before as i believe in the uk only 414 are here.

Im lost high insurance is patetic as i only cover < 5km per annum.

And to get the confirmed 23bhp as 220ps (factory) extra from stock would cost around 2k beyond here a RRC inlet and remap would see me another 600-700 quid for 250-260bhp.
Any more spent on NA would be mad as a charger kit would be around the same and give more.
