Should I? Shouldn't I?
The impression I get from reading the extensive posts is a split opinion concerning lag. What I don't want is to spoil my car and make it less or compromised although a fmic surely does have a positive effect. Otherwise no one would be running them and pointless.
Since fitting the three inch down pipe 1st and 2nd feels freed up and doesn't bog down. So got me thinking about a 200 cell cat, fmic and sip.
Pro alloy sip. Flea's fmic, why get another (thoughts).
Smooth driving, responsively quick not just sheer power.
Sorry for another fmic question. So a change to what oil?
You have the weekend to discuss!

If you have the cash go for it. Just had these goodies fitted to my Scottie, and along with a Stage 3 hybrid turbo and uprated fuel pump the difference is rather noticeable shocked

I have a CR turbos 360 bearing, stepped gap seals and 60mm trim.
As things fail I am replacing. But it sending me on a rocky road I feel!

60 Trim sounds like Stage 2, so an FMIC is becoming a semi-essential piece of kit. The road is always rocky, but good fun provided you don't go barefoot!

There is quite a few bits of info kicking about on the forum. But it seems conflicting hence my post hoping that some clarity would present itself. Instead of seeing who can piss the highest!
I will probably be doing this, Tim24.
I will be carrying out the work of fitting myself also woodvurm.
I fitted the ss downpipe as it was a new item and improvement to performance was secondary. But the difference was noticable. Therefore wondering if I add A , B and C will it have a similar positive effect?

That's why I thought Fleas kit should be the best? From what I read here he should know?
Pics are always good Jame5

I'd say it's worth adding the FMIC to compliment the 60 trim, it you look at the FC performance league the 60 trims make good power with FMIC, and not all of them will have the 3" downpipe to aid removal of gases.

Here's a few pics, i can take more if anyone needs them. This route is the one suggested by Barbz and requires a small amount of trimming in a couple of places.
From the intercooler to the throttle body, 90 degree elbow to hard pipe with 45 degree bend. This needs a small amount of metal to be cut out to let the hard pipe go through at the right angle.
At the other end of the hard pipe (just visible in the picture) a couple more connecters and elbows link up to the black plastic pipe on the throttle body.
From the turbo i cut the original pipe in two and turned one half 180 degrees and connected them together again like this.
from this pipe to the intercooler i then used a 300mm hard pipe to a 45 degree bend onto the intercooler.
You need to remove one of the undertray brackets and flatten the underside of the crossmember to get the pipe high enough to get the undertray back on.

Just a quick note, this route is for the evo intercooler and may not work on longer generic intercoolers.

its one of an evo 6 i have i think , and one of those universal piping kits off ebay , it uses solid pipe and bends and straight silicone couplers so i couldnt turn sharply enough like yours does of the right hand side of the intercooler

Mine is an evo six so should be fine. I bought all my pipework seperately from viperperformance, you should be able to get the sharp bend from there.
