Stay with me here mods, it does become Coupe related soon....

I have acquired a garden bench, the wooden slats were rotten but the cast iron sides are fine. Rather than refurbish it in the normal green metal/ dark stained wood.

I think a light wood with a few coats of a high gloss yacht varnish will look well sat on sprint blue metal bench sides, whilst adding some colour to my soon to be underway garden project, and creating a subtle homage to the car parked on the drive cool

My dilemma is that I went into B&Q this evening and gave them the paint code for sprint blue, which brought up a variant of brown, which you might see on a pavement.

Does anyone have a paint code for Dulux/B&Q paint mixers, or are there any other numbers prefixing the 462? Alternatively, does anyone know of a blue paint which is readily available which is as close to sprint blue as reasonably possible? I have scoured Wickes and B&Q to no avail and the colour charts arent anywhere near when held upto the bodywork.

I guess my last option I will be to go to a car painters and get a rattle can mixed...

Thanks in advance

You could try some nail varnish, I have the perfect match laugh

Made by GOSH, code 605 Blue Balloon laugh tongue

Or you could go to the car body paint shop, get Sprint Blue made up in 2K, mix it with some hardener and just brush it on - it's lasted 6 years on my Brembos laugh

I need to put 2 coats on about 3 square metres, how many bottles of nail varnish would I need? hehe
Hmmmm, I could take a bottle into B&Q... Where can I buy a bottle from?

I think the paint shop might be the way forward, I just wondered if there was an easier option i.e. I can go to B&Q on my way home and get a load mixed up for about £15, I reckon the paint shop will be a fair bit more than that for about half the quantity confused

Superdrug sell the nail varnish - just for anyone else who may be interested laugh

Not sure how engine paint would fair with the rain and heat, etc, but to be honest, for a bench, just look around for similar colour radiator paints, or even gloss for outside use will do the job.

I'm sure DIY stores and even places like Wilkinsons will have a close colour match somewhere.
