Is this feasable?
The carpet in my coupe isnt in the best condition, and its tan, would rather black. So how would i go about replacing it? or maybe just dye-ing it ?
any ideas?

go for the mcdonalds money saving tip and strap two small pieces of carpet to your shoes? call changing rooms in and pull the carpet up to reveal 'beautiful' floorboards you can stain?

Its the tan seats AND tan carpet combo that gets me.
The carpet is coming away from the body of the car at the edges, as well as having quite a few marks on it. It may clean up, i havent tried yet, thought id investigate the replacement route before i put the effort in to clean it.
Id guess its probably not too hard to remove the carpet, just a case of getting the seats out? not sure how to go about dye-ing it though as they come on a moulded frame dont they?

yeah it looks good but only if u dont use the car.....bit like me painting my whole house (inside!) white cos its cool, clean and minimalist - yeah right, for about a fortnight....
i know wrw199 took all his carpet out when doing his ICE install so might be worth PMing him to ask how much hassle it was.
without knowing exactly how bad yours is, id prob try cleaning it up and getting some black mats, either that or as you've put above try and source black carpet from ebay or a coop thats being broken for parts

dan i changed my tan carpet to a black one, looks better imho. carpet aint hard too change , once the seats are removed ,and the seat belt holders, its pretty basic really. G What about the centre console . I plan to change my carpet (already have a secondhand black one from ebay ) when I eventually get the car back from it's current engine rebuild. It is the removal of the centre console that has me confused, as it seems that the seats and seatbelt mounts are a doddle in comparison. I'm happy to do a guide with photos when I do it, but any help with the console removal would be greatly appreciated . Phil

Question on carpet - My latest coupe has 2 locks to hold the drivers mat in place. I'm sure my old coupe didn't. Does anyone know which models do and which don't? Both are 1998 R reg 20V turbos

Just run without one and save a few kilos wieght, they only get dirty anyway
My advice, get some small pond lining, ie thin plastic and line the floors in that instead, any drops of water collect and can be sucked out, its mroe wipe clean than the leather, in a fire it will just go POOF and not burn for hours like the carpet, and it wieghs hardly a thing, just use loads of asda bags lol
