Well with the road tax and mot having expired, that coupled with an incredibly annoying juddering misfire that point blank refuses to be eliminated no matter what I replace, I have decided to sorn the coupe. frown

I'll poke away at it from time to time but it's possible it will be leaving my garage in small bloody boxes ! grr

Sorn it by all means, but don't rush in to breaking or selling it. Give it time and one day you will forgive it and may even love it again! frown

Ryan,
Have you checked the rubber inlet plenum doughnuts?

I was in the same situation as you several years ago where I'd almost given up on it and seriously thought about breaking the car.

You will find it, keep at it.

Cheers guys, trust me I've persevered over several years with this one as I hate being beat by these problems but despite my best efforts it's fighting me all the way.

Yeah Jimbo I've replaced the rubber donuts with brand new ones, actually found a split one too which got my hopes up, replaced just about everything from the ecu to coil pack wires and injector seals, coils, lambda and a few hundred quids worth of other bits.

I'm just sick fed up with it, I think it's trust fund is nearly all gone, so I'm going to allocate it 50 quid to buy a few more bits then bye bye !

have you anyone else have a look over it, some sort of diagnostics specialist, might be worth giving it to them for an hour as they might just discover something which you haven't thought of, unlikely i know and there aren't that many specialist's up our way but might just save it

Not had anyone else look over it Doug, I'm usually one of those folk that people ask to look at their cars frown
Just bloody typical I can't fix my own, Im obviously missing something so maybe it's worth dropping it in somewhere, just a case of can I afford it just now ?

Car sailed through its mot mechanically last year but was a nightmare on the emmissions, I have spent a fortune and gained a mechanically solid but irritating car to drive off boost, and we all know "boosting" everywhere ain't practical wink

Few things I could check, fuel contamination but don't want to blow myself up rigging up another tank and fuel pressure but don't have a guage, tbh I think I'm barking up the wrong tree with those ideas anyway.

Honestly if I could sort this, I'd treat it to a full respray for next year !

I've found a fresh pair of knowledgable eyes can make a big difference when fault diagnosing. Worth a shot if there's someone local who can help you out.
