Am I confusing my memory of FIAT keys with another model; is the Coupe also part of the fabled giant-maroon memory key scenario...??

And if you didn't have that key; what really would be the issue? In other words, has anybody here REALLY needed the third key??

No, Yes, Yes they have: If you look in the tech section there has been an instance recently, there has also been a long one in this section about replacing keys etc etc...

Needing it is quite rare, but it does happen.

Where's the Specialists? Joe, Jon et al. Have you ever came across a coupé that needed the red key?

Coopless!

Spur of the moment thing one day, went into a local Timpsons shop with my silver key and they gave me another key which seems to work just fine until I lost it that is !

so, it was just a key "blank" which mechanically fitted the ignition barrel?

No transponder/coil in it? and it worked??!!

what happened next?

I would think the new key would have been coded, pretty sure the car will not start unless the correct coded key for the car is used, I used the key for a good couple of years.

What I'm saying is that you can get spare keys made from the silver key, or a least you could from timpsons a couple of years back.
