Guys sprint blue 20vt 99 plate

110k fsh sender kit apparently at 300bhp

Year mot 6 month tax

All keys and looks good small rust bubble on door

But turbos just gone! He wants 1200 quid for it but I'm wanting expert opinions on this and how much new turbo plus fitting will cost?

I was planning on a bigger turbo anyway so worth it?? Help

there's plenty of cheap coops out there with working turbos about that price. If it's factory fit Zender kit, it'll be a handsome beast, but you can pick up copies relatively cheaply.

How was the 300bhp arrived at? to me it's usually related to the turbo failure....

Sounds like K&N induction (which gives no BHP)
Decat has blown the turbo seals
Remap or chip? Try and find out who/what this is, I can't see how that's going to be 300bhp....

Right good advise there mate so for future know how you wouldn't have a decat? Unless you have a bigger turbo?

That is the car you want to be looking at imo - on face value its well beyond your budget, but if you need to source a new one for the sprinty and associated bits then you'll be spending this much anyway - Karl says he's open to offers without taking the p1ss, but this is well sorted, very well looked after, low mileage and above all done properly - if i could go back 4 months i'd have had this no problem

Very nice Proccy, of course you know the problem with it! Porto's a funny old colour...

@ Airborne, from that advert, these are the sort of mods you need for 300 horses

FC Performance Stage 2 mapped, 299.6bhp at 1.3 bar, graphs to prove.
Blueflame 2.75" decatted stainless exhaust and downpipe
Superspool turbo
Proper HKS SSQV2 Atmos Dump Valve installed onto custom stainless steel tapering pipework.
Techno 2 balanced tubular exhaust manifold (cost £750),
Evo copy FMIC, fitted at 44k
Straight induction pipe, fitted at 50k
Gas flowed inlet manifold
Gas flowed and open throttle body
K&N 57i Air filter
Walbro fuel pump with 12v upgrade
CG Performance clutch kit (fitted at 44k)
Short shift 5 speed gearbox
Blue Samco silicon hoses (fitted at 44k)
Cambelt and auxiliary belts changed Dec 09 at 49k
New battery Feb 2010 with 3yr warranty

Inevitably, the seals will go on a turbo that's been de-catted, sometimes it's ages sometimes not so long. It's up to you, personally I don't see the point laugh

Basically if it's not had the turbo upgraded it not going to reach 300bhp, by upgraded I mean having a larger compressor wheel.

Good luck in your search, there are a fair few good Coupes out there, but be prepared to travel. Spend a bit more now so you don't have to keep spending in the future.

For what it's worth Karl's car looks like a great deal for the spec.

Absolutely is. My old Porto that, it has indeed been well looked after, and a sound purchase.

Can't believe it hasn't been snapped up yet. The coop market must be well and truly flat confused

The base spec of Karl's car is capable of pushing 350, only the turbo restricting that.

That Sprinty in question,

It has had about 10 different adverts on gumtree, All different locations on the adverts, Different names & numbers too,

As for 300bhp?

To me it seems pretty dodgy, Plus the cheapest route to a new turbo - recon turbo + fitting is at least £600 all in.

I wouldnt trust that paper work one bit!

Doenst look at all like its for that car. FOr starters the keys are wrong, then there's the Fiat badges on the manuals, and finally the silohette of what looks like a Fiat Panda on one of the booklets.

Also looking at the photos, they're two differnt cars (or taken at differnt times.) One has a zender rear lip, the other doesnt.

I'd say same car, second ad rear bumper has been photoshopped and the square rear shot is a different car hence number plate being blanked out.
Surely to find a boost leak substantial enough to cause spool (or kick in) would be easy enough to find yourself??

First ad seems genuine - second could be one of those Gumtree muggers waiting to pounce.

That's a lot of car for the dough, push the boat out and get it you won't regret it! It's pretty much a ready made car all you have to do is put petrol in and fill washer bottle (don't forget oil though) you can sort out other issues at your leisure
