Failing those 2, I've only ever heard good things about Gizmo boost controller.

I had a Gizzmo a while back, very basic, but not bad. Now I have an Apexi AVC-R, different league.

Now in the 400+ bhp club!

I might have got mixed up, but haven't the Gizmo suffered from failing solenoids?

Other than that, I suppose it depends on what you want from the controller.

Stable boost control with limited functions - Greddy. (expensive)
All but the kitchen sink with features - AVCR.

Is £350 for an Apexi shipped from the US to be trusted? As they're obviously a lot more in this country.. Unless I'm looking in the wrong places? £550 is the cheapest I can find....

I got a second hand one from ebay - £255 delivered - Lucky.

It had a faulty map sensor, but was replaced by the seller, so worked out well.

Yes they are expensive, but they are worth it.

It appears we have a winner....
Thanks everyone for your input.Much appreciated.
I've had an offer that I'm waiting to hear more info on.Should that fall through..would I be doing the right thing in ordering one from the US as I mentioned earlier?Coming in at £350 shipped,I'm amazed as they're so expensive here...Have I found a genuine bargain? Will I have to pay any fees to anyone for 'importing' etc etc....

They have gone up a lot since I last bought one. They were £250 brand new. Guess it must be down to the fact Apexi don't make them anymore? confused

They were around £250 new and greddy's could be had for £150.

Now apexi's are circa £440 and greddy's circa £250-£300.

I don't know if I would be comfortable importing one. I imported a greddy remote button and paid about 15% extra on import tax. Still cheaper but more than I expected.

Whereabouts have you seen them for £440 Ross? The cheapest I have found is £525..
If the offer I've been given falls through I may have to go down that route as I don't really trust shipping one from the US.And know nothing about import duty etc etc...

Get them to mark box as "present" and theres not import tax to pay.

Blitz S-IBC is great (an appreciating asset now) and I have no problem to go above 1.4 bar, so not sure what if you have a problem there?

ok, I agree 1.4 is a safe maximum, occassionally in different weathers mine can rise to 1.45

depends on what you want from the boost controller, i had a gizmo ms-ibc on my car and it was fantastic, held boost rock solid, no fluctuating and no spiking, doesn't have fancy features but just does what it is designed to do and at about £200 brand new a fantastic bit of kit, plus it's really easy to set up

Mark_s what graph do you use. I like the one that looks like a dyno graph. Shows me how long i have held the boost etc and where it tails off and how much.

Never use the graphs, just have 3 settings (same gain) but different boost limits 1.0 1.2 and 1.4bar and shuttle between them depending on mood etc. I think there is a visual boost display but too busy watching road

I have a Gizzmo-MS IBC and it's great, easy to install, works really well, six different levels of boost, easy to select with just a press of a button.
No spiking, and a "scramble" feature for a few seconds of even more mayhem.

I found car is far more responsive and it's easy to set Duty and Gain levels and get the turbo more responsive.

A review of it here http://gizzmousa.com/file-copies/Dsport-MS-IBC.pdf
